Xcel Lists

Xcel is pretty sweet. If you put the equations concerning the cost of options in place, you can just adjust the quantities and it will instantly calculate totals. It is quite a time saver if you don't mind print, print, printing every time you play a game. If anyone else is doing this and has specific comments, let me know. All-in-all it has been a productive vacation.

  1. I was just thinking about this the other day. Excel is pretty powerful if you want to put the time in to program it. I write my lists in excel currently one of 2 ways. I either just use excel to add the costs I enter per unit or I build up lists of possible units and minis I have and copy those into the army list. The second way worked better when I did not have 7K worth of space marines to choose from.

  2. I use excel for calculating army lists for sure.
Usually I create a line per squad - per loadout.
I should post an example on my blog. It's worked great for my Novamarines (all in about 1400 points once I scratch build some drop pods) and I can easily create multiple lists for different points values.
